Lambert William Witt

The Lord blessed Lambert and took him home September 21, 2016. Lambert William Witt, 97, was born in Kranzburg, South Dakota to Charles and Johanna Witt. Lambert was a member of the CCC building bridges and cabins at Mount Rushmore. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1941 and was a WWII Veteran of the 34th Infantry which was the first company to land in both North Ireland and North Africa before moving on to Italy. After the war he met and married the love of his life, Marie A. Winter, in September 1945. They lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he worked in a plumbing shop before becoming a body and fender repairman. The family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1952 where he began working at a Ford dealership. He was a member of Saint Gregory's parish and involved in the Holy Name Society, Mens Club, Boy Scouts and Knights of Columbus. After retiring, Lambert went on to volunteer his time with Seniors Helping Seniors. Lambert is survived by his son Jerry (Deborah); daughters Patricia (Chuck) DeGraff, Barbara (Tim) Secor, Kathleen (Robbie) Johnson and Deborah Ward; as well as 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
