Ralph Ross - Home Run

Randy Ross with father's CCC Discharge PapersRandy Ross with father's CCC Discharge Papers

The enrollee roster at the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Museum of South Dakota increased with the addition of Ralph Jamison Ross. Ralph Ross' son Randy Ross and his wife, Louise brought discharge papers and several photos to the museum.

Ralph Ross was at Camp Narrows in 1941. This was between his Junior and Senior years of high school. Randy said that his father had to be reminded to return home to finish school. He really enjoyed the Black Hills and the CCC. Ralph was on the softball team that won Custer City League softball tournament and qualified for the state tournament in Sioux Falls, SD.

Names other than Ralph Ross appear on some of the photos that are not on the roster. We will make every effort to verify those names and include them.

He was a very good ball player.CCC Camp Narrows won the Custer City League Championship
