John Wesley Scott

Fulton, SD

Funeral services for John W. Scott, 50, Mitchell, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert G. Vessey officiating.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Milliken Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Mr. Scott, who had been associated with Vallet Cleaners for 21 years, died June 15, 1971 at a Mitchell hospital. He was born Aug. 20, 1920 at Alexandria to Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Scott. On March 8, 1946 he married Katherine Dittman at Alexandria.

He served as a pilot in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a 1946 graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University, charter member of the Y's Men's Club and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Kiwanis Club, YMCA and Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Joella Anderson, Sioux Falls, and Patricia, at home; one son, Thomas, at home; two brothers, Howard, Canistota, and Lawrence, Polo, III.; and a sister, Mrs. Maxine Salmon, Spencer.
