CCC Boy Guest Speaker at Westerners

It's important to continue to tell the story. Over 3 million men, their families, and a Nation are not just part of the story. They are the story. In South Dakota alone, the number of men that served is over 30,000. The men completed a huge number of projects in the State from 1933-1942.

One of the men that served in the CCC is Jay Hendrickson of Hill City, SD. Jay was instrumental in the creation of the CCC Museum of South Dakota and remains an active ambassador for the Museum. On February 26, 2016 Mr. Hendrickson was the guest speaker at Hot Springs, SD "corral" of Westerners International at the Pine Hills Retirement Community.

There are not many that would be better at telling the story of The Civilian Conservation Corps and the affect it had on the State of South Dakota and the boys who became men, and their families. Jay Hendrickson was in the CCC in 1937.
