Herbert Herman was born December 24, 1915 in a Gackle, North Dakota farm house. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in Wishek, North Dakota and Camp Crook, South Dakota. Mr. Herman was in the US Army during World War II, was a Postal Clerk and Postmaster in Gackle, ND, was a rural school teacher in Logan County and retired at age 65.
