Passion for History

Mr. Kelley O'Brien is sharing his passion for history with the visitors of the Civilian Conservation Corps Museum of South Dakota while learning about the storage and display projects at the facility.

Mr. O'Brien is the 4th grade history teacher at Hill City, SD and when he decided to advance his education he didn't have far to look. The Black Hills offers much history and the many area museums are filled with images, artifacts, stories, and personal insights about that history.

The Civilian Conservation Corps Museum of South Dakota houses cataloged items from the various South Dakota depression era projects. Research is ongoing and new discoveries continue to add to the history of the CCC and expand the database of the thousands of men that served in the state.

Thank you, Mr. O'Brien, for spending your time at the CCC Museum of South Dakota.
