Meade, Fechner Camp Newspapers

The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Museum of South Dakota continues to build its collection. The recent donation of camp newspapers from 1941 and 1942 are not only significant as artifacts but names found in them have added to the roster of CCC workers recorded at the museum. An informal count would indicate that over 30 names will be added to the records.

It should be noted that it is more difficult to uncover names and information from the later years of the CCC than earlier years. One of the reasons for this would seem to be the focus being shifted to the events of and involvement in World War II.
