Elmore Anderson

Centerville, SD

1934, 1793, Pine Creek, S-1,
1935, 1793, Pine Creek, SP-1,

Records at the CCC Museum of South Dakota indicate that Elmore Anderson was at Camp Pine Creek in 1934 and 1935. Family of Mr. Anderson visited the museum recently and provided a photo of the CCC Champs from 1937. Elmore Anderson was on that team.

Company 1793 Pine Creek was the only company to be assigned to Pine Creek. On April 27, 1936 Company 1793 was transferred to Camp SP-4 (Camp Lodge), where it remained until it was demobilized July 30, 1942.

During the basketball season of 1936-37, the camp squad, known as the "Lodge Scalpers" won the Black Hills CCC championship as well as the Southern Black Hills Conference championship. We might conclude that Elmore Anderson served beyond 1935.
