Keith LeRoy Hanson

Bemis, SD

Keith Hanson, age 91, of Clear Lake, SD passed away at his home in Clear Lake. There will be no services for Keith. Keith LeRoy Hanson was born on December 16, 1922 to Roy and Edna (Prange) Hanson in Bemis, South Dakota. He was raised there and attended Bemis Grade School and the graduated from Goodwin High School in 1940. He spent 6 months in CCC camp in Custer, SD. He worked for JC Penny in Watertown until December 7, 1941 when he enlisted in the US Navy, serving in the South Pacific for 5 years. Keith was united in marriage to Eleanor Ploof on October 7, 1943 in Goodwin, SD. To this union three children were born: Keith, Craig and Debby. They moved to Clear Lake, SD where Keith owned and operated Keith’s Clothing for many years. On December 6, 1998 Eleanor passed away. Keith later moved to Watertown before returning to Clear Lake. He is now resting peacefully with the love of his wife Eleanor. He is survived by his children: Keith (Emily) Hanson, Reed Point, MT; Craig (Camy) Hanson, Myrtle Beach, SC and Debby (Jim) Paasch, Wimbeldon, ND; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one brother, Donald (Janice) Hanson, Clear Lake, SD.
