Leonard Langager passed away on October 5, 2004 in Bremerton, WA.
Leonard Sigvart Langager was born in Veblen, SD, on February 11, 1923 to Sigvart and Elizabeth Langager. He was baptized the same year in the Palestine Lutheran Church that his grandfather had helped to build in Veblen. He grew up in Veblen where he attended school, spent time in Sturgis at the CC Camp building roads, dams, and learning to use heavy duty equipment, which extended into his later life and occupation.
Leonard married Elaine Lohre on January 11, 1946 and shared much love and laughter. Their amazing sense of humor got them through much! They lived in the Seattle area until settling in Kingston, WA in 1969. They had four sons and three daughters. Their son, Leonard Jr., preceded him in death at 15 days old. Surviving Leonard is his wife; three sons, Rick (Connie) of Cle Elum, WA, Doug (Betty) of Stephens City, VA, and David of Kingston, WA; three daughters, Lois Culton (Don) of Yakima, WA, Joyce Black (Lanny) and Libby Christie (Kevin) all of Kingston, WA. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jake Langager (Marcella) of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Tuff (Alvin) of Peever, SD, and numerous nephews and nieces, family and friends that loved him very much.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Selmer Langager, who died in France during WWII; his sister; Millie Laubach (and husband Arnold), of Sisseton, SD; a sister & brother-in-law, Clarice and Dallas DeLay of Kingston, WA; and his parents.
Leonard was loved by everyone. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and no one had a bad thing to say about him. He loved using his hands to fix lawnmowers, small engines, appliances, and cars. He loved traveling back to South Dakota, bar-b-ques, his scooter and his dog, Snowball! He will be missed by everyone, but mostly by his loving wife of 56 years.
