Robert Earl Seeman was born on 10 Nov 1922 in Hand county, South Dakota, the son of Earl W. & Mary (Joyce) Seeman.
He was sent to Fort Snelling for induction into the military on 20 Jan 1943, but due to a broken knee cap suffered in high school, he was ineligible for military service, and was sent back home.
He was employed at the Miller Post Office, managed the Marshall-Wells hardware store, and for 16 years operated a road patrol for Hand County. He also worked at the National Guard Armory.
On 03 July 1951, he married Louise Kluthe at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Miller. Louise was the daughter of Casper and Jennie (Schlechter) Kluthe, and had spent all of her life in Hand county. Two sons were born to them. He was active in his church, and his community, and enjoyed keeping horses.
When their youngest son was about four, Robert underwent surgery for cancer. After six years of valiantly fighting his disease, he died on 21 Oct 1966 in Huron, South Dakota, at the age of 43. He was buried in St. Ann's cemetery in Miller.
