Roy Clarence McGinnis was born in Bixby, Perkins County, South Dakota, on May 5, 1917 to Gideon Melvin "Mel" McGinnis and Florence Lydia "Flossy" Ellis. Roy Clarence McGinnis married Thelma Arlene Day. He passed away on December 18, 1978 in Fort Meade Veterans Medical Center, Sturgis, SD.
