Leon was married to Pauline Leta Kindley in Rapid City, South Dakota on June 28th but the year was not documented.

Their children were Mary, John, and Carol.

Leon was a shoe salesman in South Dakota after his service in WWI. He lived in Huron and Pierre, South Dakota.

He rejoined the service as a commander by the 1940 Census in Rapid City, South Dakota.
