James Daniel Irvine (Jim)

James D. Irvine, age 92, of Hartford, SD, passed away Friday May 24, 2013. James Daniel Irvine was born March 29, 1921. He was the third of seven children born to Ralph Daniel and Hanora Mary Phelps Irvine. He was born on a farm near Montrose, S.D. Jim went to country grade school. He attended high school at Lyons, Winfred and Hartford S.D. Graduating from Hartford in 1938. The summer after graduation he worked in the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) He worked in the Sheridan/Pactola Lake areas. There are several plaques in the Black Hills noting their contributions.
