Harold Alden Denison

Vermillion, SD

Harold Alden Denison was born April 08, 1920 in Vermillion, Clay County, South Dakota and was reported Missing in Action July 06, 1943 near Choiseul, Solomon Islands, South Pacific Ocean, Declared Dead January 21, 1946. He was the son of Charles Fay Denison and Edna Marie Lowe. He married Lorraine Welby January 18, 1943 in Hartington, Cedar County, Nebraska. She was born about 1922 in South Dakota. She was the daughter of Ralph E. and Genevieve J. Welby.

Harold was the recipient of five medals, awarded posthumously: Air Medal, WW II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Citation, and Purple Heart for his sixty hours of combat.
