George Miles Lindsley

George Miles Lindsley, 79, who had lived here with his niece, Mrs. R. D. Larsh, for the last two and one- half months, died unexpectedly at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll about 6 p.m. Friday, July 26. Arrangements are pending at the Dahn-Woodhouse Funeral Home, Glidden.

Mr. Lindsley was a retired teacher, superintendent, and county superintendent of schools at Perkins, S.D. He had been in the education profession for 60 years. He was born Aug. 3, 1888, at Jackson, MN, a son of Orrin and Belia J. McCormick, and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1923. Most of his life was spent in Minnesota and South Dakota, and he came here from Nashua.

He is survived by a brother E. L. Lindsley of Nashua, and 12 nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lindsley was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church; Pasque Lodge No. 214 A.F. and A.M., and Fairview Chapter No. 166, Order of the Eastern Star, both at Bison S.D.; Osman Temple of the Shrine at St. Paul, Minn.; Oriental Consistory at Yankton S.D.; and the American Legion.
