Edward B. Holweger was in Company 793 from January to August 1939--at Camp Tigerville until March and at the Lake Mitchell side camp until June. Then both camps were closed, and the company transferred to Camp Sheridan.

Edward B. Holweger died June 8, 2006, at Well Spring of Aurora, of Alzheimer's disease. Edward was born at his father's homestead in Harding County, South Dakota on July 23, 1918. He attended country school, a religious academy for high school and two years of college. He entered the Civilian Conservation Corps in January of 1939 at Hill City, South Dakota. He married Inez M. Beal on September 20, 1942 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In February of 1942 he enlisted in the U.S. Army, was inducted at Fort Snelling, Minnesota and four years later was separated at Fort Meade, Maryland. He entered the United States Army Reserve program and retired in 1983, a Colonel, with an M-Day designation as Chief Army Liaison Team, Logistics. He was employed by Continental Airlines for thirty seven years, mostly in reservations. After he retired he learned to ski and enjoyed traveling. He was a life member of R.O.A., A.R.E.C.A., and N.A.C.C.C.A. and a member of Mile High Chapter 7, Denver, of the C.C.C.A. He is survived by his four children, Stephen J. of Brighton, Colorado, Janice Marie Wray of Denver, Colorado, Michael E. of Douglas County, Colorado and Nancy L. of Pensacola, Florida; three sisters; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Service, cremation and inurnment at Fairmount Cemetery Garden of Remembrance Niche Wall will be held on Monday, June 19, 2006 at 10:00am.
