Maurice's parents: John Adair Aird & Ruth Townsend. Attended school at Lawton and at Dickinson State. Married Verlie Fisher in 1940, at Devils Lake. In the CCCs during the 1930s. Taught in High Schools at Richey & Savage in Montana; then at Mission SD until retirement in 1981. His wife Verlie also taught there as a kindergarten teacher. He was also a musician. A member of Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite.

Maurice & Verlie had five sons. Douglas is a mechanic at Akeley, Minnesota; Thomas is an instructor at East Grand Forks, Minnesota; Maurice an art teacher at St John North Dakota; Daniel was an x-ray technician at Grafton, now a teacher in Kindred High School and Lowell a tree surgeon at Mandan North Dakota.
