From Francis Gross' son Patrick Gross.

Francis G. Gross was born September 30, 1914 and died December 23, 1986. He was a civil engineer working for SD DOT and retail hardware owner in Gettysburg, SD. He was a business and civic leader in Gettysburg. Francis Gross retired to Sioux Falls in 1970.

Francis was a Golden Gloves boxing champion winning 20 bouts and losing one. He boxed in CCC camps as well. His family still owns his camp axe.
