John Franklin Thompson was born September 11, 1920 on a farm near Platte, SD, son of Elmer and Mary Thompson. He spent his career after the CCC in furniture manufacturing in North Carolina. After retirement, he moved back to South Dakota to be near family. He passed away January 4, 2009 at Mitchell, South Dakota.
