Gary Rogde Photos
Gary Rogde was in the Civilian Conservation Corps and most of these photos are from his time at Camp Farm Island near Pierre South Dakota. They include a photo of several men including John E. Hipple, Mayor of Pierre South Dakota, around the car of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd U.S. President, at the dedication of Lewis & Clark Monument at Civilian Conservation Corps Camp Farm Island.

Chet Ferrel on a caterpillar pulling a fresno to get fill dirt for the dike. The Fresno Scraper was a machine first designed to be pulled by horses in the construction of canals and ditches. It was control by an operator and in the photo, it is being steered even though it is being pulled by a caterpillar.
